About the Author
Born in New York in 1961, memoirist, Kathleen Belfiore Schuman, moved to Florida in 1976 with her parents. She now resides in a small town in Florida with her husband, Ed, who she met and married in 1994.
In 1997, she began her lifelong passion to document her family roots, extending her research to Ed's family. In the end, she unraveled a mystery that unexpectedly came together because of her drive and perseverance.
Over the years, and with help from the National Archives and Records Administration, family pictures, and family documents, Kathleen was able to published this memoir, Chasing His Purple Heart.
